Phoenix Team Thanks Giving Press Meet
Chennai:
Following the theatrical release of Phoenix on July 4, the film—directed by acclaimed stunt choreographer Anl Arasu and starring Surya Sethupathi—has received an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences. To commemorate the success, a Thanksgiving Meet was organized by the film’s team.
Actor Munnar Ramesh:
“Vanakkam to everyone. My heartfelt thanks to the press for taking this film to the people. I thank the producers and director Anl Arasu, who is India’s No. 1 fight master, for shaping this script so well. He ensured every actor in the film was given equal importance. Special congratulations to Surya Vijay Sethupathi. In cinema, no one can succeed just because of a name — it’s only through hard work. Just like his father Vijay Sethupathi, Surya has worked extremely hard in terms of performance and stunt training. Wishing him a bright future.”
Actor Aadukalam Murugadoss:
“My thanks to everyone who helped turn Phoenix into a success. Director Anl Arasu could have made this film with any star in India, but he chose to sculpt and elevate Surya Vijay Sethupathi as the lead. These days, not many are willing to do an action film, especially in their debut, but Surya delivered a solid performance and is also a great human being. I thank Anl Arasu for giving me a role in this film.”
Actor Dileepan:
“My sincere thanks to Anl Arasu for giving me a role in this film. Many people have appreciated my performance, and I’m grateful to all of you. Surya Vijay Sethupathi gave his complete dedication to this project. Thanks again for all your support.”
Actor Palani:
“Vanakkam to everyone. I thank director Anl Arasu for the opportunity. Every moment I enjoyed in the film was also loved by the audience. Thanks to the entire cast and crew for their support.”
Actor Kaaka Muttai Vignesh:
“I thank Anl Arasu sir for giving me the opportunity to act in Phoenix, and I also thank Surya. The producers and cast helped us immensely, and the press extended strong support for this film, just like you all did for me since Kaaka Muttai. Thank you!”
Actor Rogith Raja:
“Vanakkam to everyone. I extend my sincere thanks to the director and the entire Phoenix team for giving me this opportunity.”
Actor Surya Sethupathi:
“My thanks to everyone who helped bring this film to the people. I’ve received appreciation from many who watched the film. If Anl Arasu hadn’t chosen me, I wouldn’t be standing here today. The producer stood by me throughout the journey. The entire team supported me—cinematographer Velraj and composer Sam CS were my pillars of strength. Heartfelt thanks to all.”
Producer Rajalakshmi Anl Arasu:
“Thanks to everyone. From the beginning, we wanted a newcomer to play the lead in Phoenix. Though I’m new to cinema, everyone in the industry guided me. I gave everything I could to this film. Everyone in the industry works hard, and I wholeheartedly thank every single member of the team who helped turn this into a big success.”
Director Anl Arasu, in an emotional speech, said:
“After many years in the industry, I decided to step into direction. I sincerely thank Rajalakshmi for standing by me. Velraj sir was a pillar for this film, and Sam CS gave the film a strong musical backbone. He agreed to work on the film immediately after hearing the story—I'm truly grateful. Thank you to editor Ruben as well. I wanted this film to be technically strong. Every actor gave their best. I literally worked to the brink of death. After 32 years in cinema, I’ve now grown to the level of producing a film. The success of this film isn’t mine alone—it belongs to everyone who worked on it. That’s good for cinema as a whole. Don’t just see this as a Surya Sethupathi film—this is the story of 28 young men. This script wasn’t originally written for Surya, but he delivered it brilliantly. I saw his hard work up close. At this age, he gave more than 100%. He has a very bright future. My thanks to all the journalists who supported us.”
