27-Year-Old Housewife Successfully Undergoes Lung Transplantation at Gleneagles Health City Chennai After Accidentally Consuming Pesticide Mixed Fruit Juice!

Chennai: 

A homemaker aged 27 years old hailing from Andhra Pradesh's Ongole District faced a life-threatening situation when she accidentally consumed a weed killer (pesticide) mixed with Fruit juice in Pet bottle. Her children, while playing at home, unknowingly mixed this pesticide with fruit juice. The mother unknowingly consumed the pesticide-mixed fruit juice. 

Initially, she had been admitted at a hospital in her hometown. The doctors on duty gave her IV fluids when she complained of shivering, weakness, and abdominal discomfort. After symptomatic support treatment, she was discharged from the hospital that very night. But later complained of difficulty in breathing. Panic-stricken, her husband rushed her to another hospital. It was then revealed upon investigation that she had accidentally consumed fruit juice mixed with a weed killer causing extensive damage to her kidney and liver. She was medically treated to the best of the doctor’s abilities for nearly a month but there was not much improvement her condition.

Since the patient had continuous breathing difficulties, she was placed on ventilator support. Further examinations by doctors revealed that her lungs were severely affected and that was not discovered during initial treatment. Her lungs worsened over time despite medical interventions. With no respite for her and her family, the situation reached a critical point, where they gave up all hope.

The Doctors’ upon realizing their situation reached out to Dr. Govini Balasubramani, Program Director – Thoracic Organ Transplant, Gleneagles Health City Chennai for an opinion. Dr Govini verified the medical reports of the patient and based on the reports he instructed the Doctors to immediately shift to Gleneagles Health City for timely treatment. 

“Upon arrival, her carbon dioxide levels were alarmingly high; almost four times higher than what the normal value should be. She was in a near-death situation as it had reached almost 125 which was many times higher than normal. Coupled with very low oxygen levels in the blood she was in worsening respiratory failure. This prompted us to put her on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) support. Since her lungs showed progressive worsening and fibrosis the option of lung transplant was discussed with the family as the only solution to save her. She was subsequently enlisted into the state organ transplant registry as a cadaveric lung transplant recipient,” said Dr Govini 

“Within five days, a transplant alert was received, and a suitable donor lung was identified. The transplant was successfully conducted, leading to the removal of both ECMO and ventilatory support. She is now breathing on her own and will soon be discharged,” added, Dr. Govini Balasubramani.

“The patient, belonging to a lower-middle-income background, had financial support from the poultry farm where her parents worked, along with additional assistance from the AP Government under CMRF. The organ donor, a recently deceased female with brain hemorrhage-induced brain death, provided a lung that matched the recipient's needs in terms of size and blood group compatibility. The entire process, from being admitted to Gleneagles Health City Chennai to the successful transplant and recovery, was just ten days. The family, originally facing a dire situation, was fortunate to receive timely medical intervention, showcasing the significance of prompt and specialized care in critical cases,” said, Dr Apar Jindal, Program Director – Lung Transplant & Head of Department Pulmonary Critical Care & Sleep Medicine, Gleneagles Health City Chennai. 

“Incidentally, this is the first case in the history of Tamil Nadu that a lung transplant has successfully been performed on a patient who had severe lung damage due to paraquat poisoning,” Dr Apar Jindal pointed out

பைரி படத்தினை ஏற்கனவே குறும்படமாக செய்திருந்தார்கள். அப்பொழுதே ஜான் அவர்களை எனக்குத் தெரியும். ஆனால்  குறும்படம் எடுக்கும் போது இருந்த ஜான் அண்ணன் வேறு, இப்பொழுது இருக்கும் ஜான் அண்ணன் வேறு. ஏனென்றால் படத்தில் எதெல்லாம் நன்றாக இருக்கிறதோ அதற்கெல்லாம் முதற்காரணம் ஜான் அண்ணன் தான். ஏனென்றால் ஒரு கேப்டனாக படத்தில் என்ன வேண்டும் என்பதில் மிகத் தெளிவாக இருந்து தேவையானவற்றை வாங்கக் கூடிய இயக்குநர் அவர். அவருடன் பணியாற்றியது சிறப்பான அனுபவம்.

நடிகர் ஆனந்த் பேசியதாவது...

பத்திரிகை நண்பர்களுக்கும் வணக்கம்.  முதலில் சையத் அவர்களுக்கு நன்றிகளைக் கூறிக் கொள்ள கடமைப்பட்டுள்ளேன்.  ஏனென்றால் கற்றது தமிழ் படத்தில் நான் கதாநாயகிக்கு மாமனாக நடித்திருப்பேன். அதைப் பார்த்துவிட்டே என் குறும்படத்தில் கண்டிப்பாக நீங்கள் நடிக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறினார். அப்படி சொன்னது மாதிரியே என்னைக் கூப்பிட்டு நடிக்க வைத்திருக்கிறார்.  கேமராமேன் இப்படத்திற்கு மிகச் சிறப்பான  ஒத்துழைப்பைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். அவருக்கு நன்றி.  சக்தி ஃபிலிம் பேக்டரி படம் ரீலீஸ் செய்யப் போகிறது என்கின்ற தகவல் கிடைத்ததும் மிகுந்த நம்பிக்கை வந்துவிட்டது. மிகப்பெரிய உழைப்பை ஒவ்வொரு தொழில்நுட்பக் கலைஞரும் இயக்குநரும் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்களே, இப்படம் என்ன ஆகப் போகிறது என்று கவலையாக இருக்கும். இனி அந்த கவலை இல்லை.  

நடிகர் ரமேஷ் ஆறுமுகம் பேசும் போது...

இந்த படத்திற்கு இயக்குநர் ஜான் எவ்வளவு கஷ்டப்பட்டாரோ, அதே அளவிற்கு சையத் கஷ்டப்பட்டு அர்ப்பணிப்போடு இப்படத்தில் நடித்திருக்கிறார். தயாரிப்பாளர் துரை சாருக்கு மிக்க நன்றி, சக்தி சாரின் பல படங்களை நாம் பார்த்திருக்கிறோம். அவை எல்லாமே நன்றாக இருக்கும் என்று தெரியும். அது போல் இப்படமும் கண்டிப்பாக நன்றாக இருக்கும்.

அனைவருக்கும் என் வணக்கத்தை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். இதற்கு முன்னர் சில படங்களில் நடித்திருந்தாலும் கூட இப்படம் எனக்கு ஒரு அடையாளம் கொடுக்கும் என்று நம்புகிறேன். ஒரு குறும்படத்தில் நடித்திருந்ததைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு என்னை அணுகி நான் படம் எடுக்கும் போது கண்டிப்பாக கூப்பிடுவேன் என்று இயக்குநர் ஜான் கிளாடி கூறினார். அது போல் கரெக்டாக என்னை கூப்பிடவும் செய்தார். வாய்ப்பு கொடுத்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி.  பத்திரிகை நண்பர்கள் இப்படத்திற்கு ஆதரவு தர வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன்.

நான் இப்படத்தில் சித்ரா என்கின்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்து இருக்கிறேன். எங்கள் குழுவினர் சார்பாக நான் தயாரிப்பாளர் அவர்களுக்கு நன்றிகளை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். சக்தி பிலிம் பேக்டரி மூலம் இப்படம் வெளியாக இருப்பது மிகுந்த சந்தோசம் கொடுக்கிறது. படத்தில் நடித்த சக நடிகர் நடிகைகள் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பக் கலைஞர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நன்றியும் வாழ்த்துக்களும். பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் அனைவரும் இப்படத்திற்கு வரவேற்பைத் தர வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன்.

என்னை இரண்டு முறை ஆடிஷன் எடுத்து எனக்கு இப்படத்தில் நடிக்க நல்ல வாய்ப்பைக் கொடுத்த இயக்குநர் ஜான் அவர்களுக்கும் தயாரிப்பாளர் துரை அவர்களுக்கும், இப்படத்தை வெளியிடவிருக்கும் சக்திவேலன் சாருக்கும், இப்படத்திற்கு ஆதரவு கொடுக்கப் போகும் பத்திரிகையாளர்களுக்கும் மிக்க நன்றி.

நிர்வாகத் தயாரிப்பாளர் தினேஷ் பேசும் போது...

முதல் நன்றியை சையத் அவர்களுக்குத் தான் தெரிவிக்க வேண்டும்,  அவர் எனக்கு 15 வருடப் பழக்கம். இப்படத்தைப் பார்த்த அனைவரும் படத்தைப் பாராட்டினார்கள், ஆனால் எல்லோருமே புதிதாக இருப்பதால் எப்படி கமர்ஷியலாக வொர்க் அவுட் ஆகும் என்று சந்தேகித்தார்கள். ஆனால் சக்தி சார் இப்படத்தைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு கண்டிப்பாக நான் பார்த்துக் கொள்கிறேன் என்று நம்பிக்கை கொடுத்ததும் தான் சந்தோஷம் வந்தது. இயக்குநர் ஜான் இப்படத்தை சிறப்பாக உருவாக்கியுள்ளார். ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் வசந்த்குமார் படட்பிடிப்பில் பெரும் உதவி செய்தார். அவருக்கு நன்றி. சிஜி சேகர் மிகச் சிறப்பான ஒத்துழைப்பை இரவு பகல் பாராமல் செய்து கொடுத்தார். அவருக்கு நன்றி. DI தொழில்நுட்பக் கலைஞர் ஸ்ரீக்கும் நன்றி.  பிற மாநிலங்கள் மற்றும் நாடுகளில் இருந்து வரும் படங்களை நாம் வெற்றிப்படமாக்கி இருக்கிறோம். பைரி நம் ஊரின் கதை. மக்கள் அதை கண்டிப்பாக வெற்றியடையச் செய்வார்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன். பத்திரிகை நண்பர்கள் படத்திற்குப் பெரிய ஆதரவு தரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன்.

பாடலாசிரியர் மோகன்ராஜா பேசும் போது...

பைரி படத்தில் நீ பார்க்கும் பார்வை என்கின்ற பாடலை எழுதி இருக்கிறேன்.  பாடல் வெளியாகிவிட்டது. நல்ல விதமாக எல்லோரும் எழுதி வருகிறார்கள். இப்படம் மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றி அடையும் என்று நம்புகிறேன்., ஊடக நண்பர்கள் இப்படத்தை வெற்றிப்படம் ஆக்க வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன். 

யாத்திசை பட இயக்குநர் தரணி ராசேந்திரன் பேசும் போது...

அனைவருக்கும் வணக்கம். பைரி என்கின்ற திரைப்படம் எனக்கு முதன் முதலாக சக்திவேலன் சார் அவர்கள் மூலமாகத் தான் அறிமுகமானது. நான் அவரை பார்க்கும் போதெல்லாம் அப்படத்தினைப் பற்றிப் பேசுவார். இயக்குநர் பேசும் போது வெகுளியாகப் பேசினார். ஆனால் அவருடைய படமும், அந்த கிராப்டிங்கும், அவர் ப்ரேமை கட்டமைத்த விதமும், அதில் கதாபாத்திரங்களை நடிகர்களை கையாண்ட விதமும் மிகச் சிறப்பாக ஆச்சரியப்பட வைக்கிறது.  ஒரு படத்தை ஆடியன்ஸுக்கு நெருக்கமாக மாற்றுவது என்பது ஒர்  தொழில்நுட்பம் சார்ந்த அறிவு. இது வெறும் புறா சண்டையாக நின்று போவதில்லை. அதனையும் மீறி மனிதர்களின் உணர்வு, அரசியல், அந்த சமூகத்தின் அரசியலைப் பேசுகிறது. புதுப்பேட்டை, ஆடுகளம் படங்களைப் போல் பைரி திரைப்படம்  இருக்கும். இன்னும் சொல்லப் போனால் இந்த வருடத்தின் மிகப்பெரிய சம்பவமாக பைரி இருக்கும். இவ்வருடத்தின் மிக முக்கியமான படங்களில் பைரி கண்டிப்பாக இருக்கும் என்று நம்புகிறேன். 

நாயகன் சையத் மஜீத் பேசும் போது...

நான் கடந்த 14 ஆண்டுகளாக சினிமாவில்  இயங்கி வருகிறேன்.  நாளைய இயக்குநர் துவங்கி பல குறும்படங்களில் நடித்து இருக்கிறேன்.  பல மேடைகள் பார்க்கும் போது எனக்கு மிக ஏக்கமாக இருக்கும். அந்த ஏக்கம் எனக்கு நீங்கிய நாள் கண்டிப்பாக இதுதான் என்று சொல்வேன். இதற்கு நான் முதலில் நன்றி சொல்ல வேண்டியது தயாரிப்பாளர் டி.கே அவர்களுக்குத் தான்.  

அவருக்கு அடுத்து நான் நன்றி சொல்ல நினைப்பது சக்தி அண்ணனுக்குத் தான். அவர் இன்றி எங்களுக்கு இந்த அடையாளம் கிடைத்திருக்காது. முதன் முதலாக படத்தைப் பார்த்த சக்தி அண்ணன் என்னைக் கட்டிப் பிடித்து “நீ பின்னிட்ட” என்று வாழ்த்தினார். அப்பொழுது தான் எனக்கு உயிரே வந்தது. 

இயக்குநர் ஜான் குறும்படம் எடுக்கத் துவங்கிய போதிலிருந்தே நாங்கள் இணைந்து பயணித்து வருகிறோம். இப்படத்திற்காக அசுரத்தனமான உழைப்பைக் கொட்டியிருக்கிறார் இயக்குநர் ஜான்.  அவர் தொடர்ச்சியாக ஒரு மணி நேரம் தூங்கி நான் பார்த்ததில்லை. இப்படத்தின் வெற்றி இயக்குநர் ஜான் அவர்களுக்கு இன்னும் மிகப்பெரிய படங்களை கொண்டு வரும் என்று நம்புகிறேன். 

தயாரிப்பாளர் துரைராஜ் பேசும் போது...

எல்லோருக்கும் வணக்கம். நான் பேச வேண்டியதில் பாதியை சையத்தும் மீதியை இயக்குநர் ஜான் அவர்களும் பேசிவிட்டார்கள் ஒன்று சொல்லலாம். சினிமாவையே பார்க்காத என்னை இவர்கள் ஒரு தயாரிப்பாளராக ஆக்கிவிட்டார்கள். சக்திவேலன் எங்கள் படத்தை  நம்பி வெளியிட வந்திருக்கிறார்கள். அவருக்கு நன்றி. பத்திரிகையாளர்களாகிய நீங்கள் தான் இப்படத்தை பொதுமக்களிடம் கொண்டு சேர்க்க வேண்டும்.

சக்தி ஃப்லிம் பேக்டரி சக்திவேலன் பேசும் போது...

நான் இப்படத்திற்கு அடையாளம் கொடுக்கவில்லை. பைரி திரைப்படம் தான்  எங்கள் சக்தி ஃபிலிம் பேக்டரிக்கு அடையாளமாக மாற இருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லிக் கொள்கிறேன். கண்டிப்பாக இந்த ஆண்டிற்கான வெற்றிப்படங்கள் மற்றும் சிறந்த படங்கள் என்று ஒரு பட்டியல் எடுத்தால் அதில் கண்டிப்பாக “பைரி” இருக்கும். பதினைந்து வருடமாக கஷ்டப்பட்ட அத்தனை பேரும் சேர்ந்து ஒரு நல்ல படத்தை எடுத்திருக்கிறார்கள். பைரி படத்தின் வெற்றியை சத்தம் போட்டு சொல்ல வேண்டும் என்று விரும்புகிறேன். 

லால் சலாம் - திரைவிமர்சனம் 

விமர்சனம்: 

இஸ்லாமியர்கள் பெரும்பான் மையாக வாழும் முரார்பாத் என்ற கிராமத்தில் முஸ்லிம்களும் இந்துக்களும் அண்ணன், தம்பியாக பழகி வருகின்றனர். அந்தக் கிராமத்தில் இருந்து இளம் வயதில் மும்பைக்கு சென்று அங்கு பெரிய தொழிலதிபராக வலம் வரும் ரஜினிகாந்த் மொய்தீன் பாய் , மகன் சம்சுதீனும் (விக்ராந்த்) அவரது நெருங்கிய நண்பரின் மகன் திருவும் (விஷ்ணு விஷால்) சிறுவயது முதலே எலியும் புலியுமாக இருக்கின்றனர். 

கிரிக்கெட் போட்டியில் ஏற்படும் சிறு மோதல், பெரிய கலவரமாக வெடித்து அண்ணன், தம்பிகளாக பழகிவந்த இந்து - முஸ்லிம் மக்களிடையே பெரிய பிளவு ஏற்படுகிறது. இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து கிராமத்தில் தேர்த் திருவிழா நடத்த இந்து மக்கள் முடிவு செய்யும்போது ஓர் அரசியல் கட்சியின் சதியால் திருவிழா தடுக்கப்படுகிறது.

இறுதியில் இந்துக்களுக்கும் முஸ்லிம்களுக்கு இடையே ஒற்றுமை நிலவியதா? தேர்த் திருவிழா நடந்ததா? இதில் மொய்தீன் பாயின் பங்கு என்ன?  மீதி கதை... 

ரஜினிகாந்த் என்ட்ரி காட்சி திரையரங்கில் விசில் பறக்குது....  

தேவாவின் குரலில் 'அன்பாலனே' பாடல் ரசிக்க வைக்கிறது. 'தேர் திருவிழா' ஆட்டம் போட வைக்கிறது. படத்தின் முதல் பாதி முழுவதும் முரார்பாத் கிராமத்தில் வாழும் மக்களை பற்றியும், விஷ்ணு விஷால் - விக்ராந்த் இடையிலான பகைமை, விளையாட்டில் தூவப்படும் வெறுப்புணர்வு மெல்ல எப்படி ஒரு கிராமத்தையே பாதிக்கிறது உள்ளிட்ட விஷயங்கள் நான்-லீனியர் முறையில் சொல்லப்படுகிறது. 

விஷ்ணு விஷால், விக்ராந்த், தம்பி ராமையா, செந்தில், ஜீவிதா, விவேக் பிரசன்னா, மூணாறு ரமேஷ் என அனைவரும் தங்கள் பங்கை சிறப்பாக செய்துள்ளனர். விஷ்ணு விஷாலுக்கு ஜோடியாக வரும் அனந்திகா சனில்குமார் ஒரே ஒரு பாடலுக்கு மட்டும் உதவியிருக்கிறார். தன்யா பாலகிருஷ்ணா இறுதிக் காட்சியில் ஓரிரு நிமிடங்கள் வந்தாலும் ஈர்க்கிறார். ரஹ்மான் குரலில் ‘ஜலாலி ஜலாலி’ பாடல் ரஜினி ரசிகர்களுக்கு நிச்சயம் செம விருந்து..... 

கதையை மேலும் திருத்தமாக சுருக்கமாக அழுத்தமாக பதிவு செய்திருந்தால் இன்னும் சிறப்பாக அமைந்திருக்கும்.....

AN ODE TO SUPERHEROES  AT 7TH EDITION OF ALERT BEING AWARDS

Chennai: 

The Seventh Edition of “ALERT Being” Awards was held today to honour and recognise good samaritans from various walks of life. ALERT, a voluntary non-profit organization dedicated to making the 'Right to Life' a reality in India, organized the award ceremony and presented awards to 13 real-life heroes who have helped save or preserve lives in the following categories: individuals, organizations, and people going above and beyond.

Mr. Seshasayee, Chairman – Adyar Cancer Institute & Asian Paints and Padma Shri. Dr. Mohan Kameswaran, Managing Director – Madras ENT Research Foundation graced the awards ceremony as Distinguished Guests of Honour and gave away the awards to real-life heroes selected by the distinguished members of the ABA jury.

The ALERT Being Awards under the Individual category was presented to 5 real-life heroes who put their life at stake. The Category of Going Beyond Call of Duty was presented to Ms. Jeyalakshmi, a staff nurse from Tuticorin who helped deliver a baby during floods. Under Organisation Category: Nizams Institute of Medical Science for E ICU, United Way of Chennai, Dhara Sansthan and Dharani Geotech Engineers India Private Limited received the awards. The ALERT Being Icon award was presented to the incredible Rat Hole Miners (Uttarakhand Tunnel Collapse) and Pudukudi Melur (Srivaikuntam Floods).

The distinguished members of the ABA Jury were Ms. Veena Kumaravel, Founder, Natural Group of Salons: Thiru. Md. Shakeel Akhtar IPS, Chief Information Commissioner, DGP(Retd); Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali, Heir Apparent & Dewan to the Prince of Arcot; Dr. J.S. Rajkumar, Chairman and Chief Surgeon, Lifeline Hospitals; Mr. Sujith Kumar, Founder, Maatram Foundation and Mr. Anandakrishnan, a serial entrepreneur. The event had advisors in Dr. Renuka David, Managing Director, Radiant Medical Services and Mr. C. K. Kumaravel, CEO and Co-Founder, Natural Group of Salons.

Conferred by the Board of Trustees of ALERT, The ALERT Being Award for LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT was presented to Shri. Ratan N Tata for living a lifetime of legendary philanthropy along with business excellence.

Mike Muralidharan, Chairman, ALERT, said “With the Good Samaritan Law in place, we would like to scale up the BLS trained volunteers from around 3 lakh people,  to  1 Crore by 2028. While the Covid Years slowed down the training pace, now we are back to speed with Schools and Colleges seeing the importance to train their student, apart from corporates and other communities. These volunteers are our strength”  He went on to state that  “At times of an emergency, most people have the heart to help, but do not know how to go about it. The aim is to have more people evangelised in handling emergency response to save precious lives, so that no life is lost for dearth of attention”.

Speaking about the awardees, Ms. Kala Balasundaram, Founder Trustee said, “The 7th edition of the ALERT Being Awards celebrates the remarkable contributions of the real-life unsung heroes who embody the spirit of compassion and service. Through this event, we not only honor their selfless actions but also emphasize the critical need for widespread awareness and preparedness in handling emergencies.”
